Website Terms of Use Agreement

It is an archival, digital, and service-based website that provides informational and archival content through subscriptions. It aims to make available digital and visual archival materials, in addition to dedicated profile pages for individuals documented within the Platform.

The following terms shall have the meanings assigned to each of them: Website: The DIGITISED website and all its affiliated pages, services, and websites. User: Any natural or legal person who accesses, browses, or benefits from the Website’s services. Content: All digital materials displayed or stored on the Website, including texts, images, manuscripts, documents, three-dimensional models, audio or visual recordings, and metadata.

The user shall bear responsibility for: Providing all technical requirements necessary to access the Website. Using the Website in a lawful manner that does not violate Egyptian laws, public order, or public morals. Refraining from any use that harms Egyptian civilization, distorts history, or deliberately falsifies facts. Not exploiting the Content for commercial, promotional, or political purposes without prior written permission from the Website administration. Not copying, downloading, or republishing archived Content except within the permitted limits. The Website reserves the right to block or suspend any violating user without prior notice. The Website administration reserves the right to modify, suspend, or update the Website or any of its services or content at any time without prior notice. The Platform does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or continuity of the Website and bears no responsibility for any temporary or permanent interruption for any reason whatsoever.

Subscriber Accounts These accounts allow viewing only the archival materials and content available within the limits of the subscription. The subscriber is not entitled to copy, transfer, download, reuse, or exploit any archival material or displayed content, in whole or in part, by any means whatsoever, without obtaining prior written approval from the Website administration. Any violation of this shall be considered an explicit breach of this Agreement. Verified Accounts These are for individuals or entities that have been documented within the Platform. Holders of verified accounts own all intellectual, moral, and material rights related to the information and materials published on their personal pages. The verified user acknowledges that the Website does not own any intellectual or moral rights to the archive itself, and that its right is limited solely to the displayed digital visual material. The holder of a verified account does not have the right to request removal of the page from the Platform after it has been documented.

Both parties are committed to protecting users’ personal data in accordance with the provisions of Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020. Data collection and use shall be limited to what is necessary to provide the service and in accordance with the approved Privacy Policy.

The Website does not claim ownership of any intellectual or moral rights over the displayed archives. The Website’s rights are limited to: Displaying the digital visual material. Organizing and visually archiving it within the Platform. All trademarks, the Website name, logos, overall design, and display mechanism are the exclusive property of the DIGITISED Platform. It is prohibited for any user to: Reproduce, distribute, or exploit any content without permission. Remove or obscure any ownership or rights indications.

All information contained in the pages of verified accounts is the sole responsibility of their owners. The Platform bears no legal or moral responsibility for the accuracy, correctness, or completeness of such information. Currently, publishing content from non-verified users is not permitted.

The user undertakes to: Use the Website for lawful purposes only. Not violate Egyptian or international laws. Not attempt to hack or disrupt the Website. Not introduce any viruses or malicious software. Not impersonate any person or entity.

The information provided through the Website is for informational and archival purposes only. Any reliance on the content is at the user’s own personal responsibility.

The Website may contain links to external websites, and the Platform bears no responsibility for their content or policies.

There is currently no payment system. If paid services are added in the future, these terms will be updated accordingly.

The Website administration has the right to suspend or terminate any account in case of violation of the terms without prior notice.

The Platform reserves the right to amend these terms at any time, and continued use constitutes implicit acceptance of such amendments.

These terms and conditions are subject to the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Egyptian courts shall have jurisdiction over any dispute.

If users are allowed to submit materials or information: The user acknowledges ownership or entitlement to provide the content. The user undertakes not to submit any content that is violating, offensive, or undocumented. The Website has the right to review or delete any content without stating reasons.
